Gadar 2 was approached by director Anil Sharma to cast him. Shocking revelations of Luv Sinha

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is currently writing a new success story at the ticket window. The film will also feature actor Luv Sinha. After a long time he has become a part of a movie. Urmila Kori talks about the film and her career…

How did you get the role in Ghadar 2?

I told the director Anil Sharma in front that you should cast me in your film. At that time he was planning Ghadar 2 and offered me a guest role in Farid. Sometimes your guest appearance in a big banner film grabs everyone’s attention. You also get visibility in the industry. I know this, but I didn’t do this film just because. I have done it for Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma. I respect him a lot, if I had been offered a guest role in any other banner’s film I wouldn’t have done it.

What memories do you have with the film ‘Gadar’?

I remember watching the movie on a single screen in Vile Parle and I enjoyed it a lot. You will know the real reaction of the audience from single screen. Multiplex audiences are very quiet. In the current era audiences are flocking to theaters again, the success of Ghadar 2 being another example of that.

The movies were not playing at the ticket window, so the blame goes to our movies.

I think we are alienating our audience. We are making movies in Eastern European style and we hope our audience will watch them. That content is now available on OTT, so they will watch it live. Everyone just wants to copy Abroad in Bollywood. Some people say that there should be no songs in our films, while the great filmmaker Mani Ratnam sir said that films should have songs. If they are combined in the right way, they make the story more effective. I agree with Mani Ratnam sir. Not a new director.

You belong to a film family, what are your childhood memories on film sets?

There are many. A memory is very special. Once I went to the sets of my father’s film Loha and there was a real explosion on the bridge made for the shoot. Back then there were no computer generated images, everything was real, so imagine as a child what my experience would be. Seeing it as a shoot

What do you think about the OTT boom, you will soon be seen in a web series with your father?

These are great times and as an actor I am open to any medium. My next project is Gangster web series which also stars my father Shatrughan Sinha, which will be the first project of the father-son duo, which will come on OTT.

What was it like facing the camera with your father?

It was cold, I was comfortable. I remember when I was a kid I used to get scared when asked to dance in front of me, but that was not the case during the shooting of this web series. I was very relaxed. Well we are playing a reel father-son role and also involved in politics.

You have faced many tough times in your career, what advice did you get from your father?

Keep trying and keep looking for your work. Don’t lose your confidence and work hard. I have also learned from Hrithik Roshan who has been a superstar for so long but still he is very hard working.

Do you believe in getting work through auditions?

Yes why no but along with this I would also like to say that when a director meets actors from the South film industry they immediately cast them because the director believes that he can work with the actor.

Have you ever faced rejection during an audition?

Casting directors don’t contact me. I don’t know the reason. I don’t know his thought process. People talk about insiders and outsiders. They target star kids, but many times my friends who are close to casting directors get roles, but I don’t even get called. This is also unfair. This should also be discussed. I think I should get a chance.

What are the do’s and don’ts of the family you belong to?

This is also very important. It takes 20 years to make a name and you can lose it in 30 seconds. We have always been told to never let your family down. Always remember the family you come from. Family is more important than anything else. I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t party late at night.

Do you also mentor your sister Sonakshi?

She is my younger sister and I have every right to tell her what is wrong. I will always speak up when she is wrong. I told him many times about choosing the wrong movie. I am very protective of my family.

Sonakshi Sinha has always maintained an on-screen kissing policy, what do you think as an actress?

I think it is beyond my logic to make kissing and love scenes on camera. If we don’t show it on screen, you won’t be able to express the feelings of love between the main characters. Look at yesteryear actors like Sridevi, Amitabh Bachchan, all of them have done romantic scenes too.

Will you do intimate scenes on camera?

Never because I am in politics and I want to think about my constituency, my people. I come from a family where all hold conservative values. I can never give up my value.

How much does it have to do with Bihar?

Very, very often I go there. Gone last month. If there is my constituency, I am more connected with it. Those who say I am not going to Bihar. They don’t know about me again. I go there often. I have my own people there. If I am a candidate from that constituency but do not win, it is not justified to question me so much.
