“A devastating defeat”

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have expressed concern for Everton following their 2-1 defeat to Luton Town.

On Match of the Day, Lineker said: “It is a devastating defeat for Everton. There are four consecutive losses at home this season. It’s a cause for concern, isn’t it?

To which Shearer replied: “It’s a real cause for concern, yes. He also scored just one goal and next week they host Bournemouth at home, so again it will be a big game for them. But they are creating and losing a lot of opportunities.”

Dyche hints at the topic of his conversations with 777 Partners

Sean Dyche has exposed his biggest frustrations as Everton manager by hinting at the content of his face-to-face conversations with the club’s potential new owners, 777 Partners.

A delegation from the Miami-based private investment firm that struck a deal to buy Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the club met Dyche at Everton’s Finch Farm training base ahead of the victory 3-1 at Brentford and co-founders Josh Wander and Don Dransfield, chief executive of football group 777, joined Steve Pasko in the stands at Goodison Park during the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to Luton Town.

Dyche had previously revealed that the basis of his conversations with 777 was to describe the challenges he has faced at the club and when asked if his team’s fourth consecutive defeat at home was an opportunity for them to understand how things have been, he responded was open about what he’s talking about with 777.
