And Inside Out 2 passes the 6 million admissions mark.
The announced hits of the summer are here. Despicable Me 4, Inside Out 2 And Monte Cristo have garnered millions of admissions since the start of the summer holidays.
This week, it's the Illumination film that takes first place in the ranking. Despicable Me 4 tops the French box office with 1.4 million admissions for its first week. An excellent start, still well below the previous installment which attracted 1.9 million spectators for its first week (in 2017).
Just behind, the count of Monte Cristo still has impressive attendance figures after three weeks in theaters: more than a million new admissions for the three-hour romantic epic, which now has 3.5 million spectators in France. Monte Cristo thus already exceeds The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnanwhich ended its career with 3.4 million admissions last year.
Leading for three weeks, Inside Out 2 experienced a slight drop in popularity and fell to fourth place at the French box office for its fourth week. But the animated film still passed the 6 million admissions mark and became Pixar's third biggest success in France (behind The world of Nemo in 2003 and Ratatouille in 2007).
In the rest of the ranking, we note the still solid presence of'A little something extra'Artus' film attracts 400,000 new viewers after 11 weeks and passes the 9 million mark, breaking an old record held by Emmanuelle.
Finally, the new features of the week (except Despicable Me 4) suffer from competition. The horror film Longlegs made less than 70,000 admissions when Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson made only 60,000 with the historical romance To the Moon.
