At least four people died and nine others were hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into the side of a building on Long Island, New York, Friday afternoon, authorities said, FOX 5 reported.
FOX 5, citing sources, confirmed the accident happened at 4:42 p.m. at Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Avenue in Deer Park, Suffolk County.
Police said a driver in a minivan “went through the building, all the way through the building.” Authorities said several people were left trapped after the minivan drove through the local business.

Footage from the scene showed a huge hole in the small local business that the vehicle appeared to have driven through.
The driver was partially conscious when first responders arrived on scene, police said.
Witness Eric Perez told Fox News Digital he heard the crash.
“It looked like broken glass,” Perez said. “I've never heard that before. »
Perez said he initially ignored the racket until he saw law enforcement vehicles everywhere.
“At first I didn’t pay attention to it,” Perez said. “It’s Friday, we live in a crazy world and now the police are putting up duct tape. »
The cause of the accident is unknown and it is unclear whether it was intentional or not. It is also unclear whether any children were inside the building at the time and whether any employees or customers were injured.
