Body found in Allegheny River confirmed to be missing Shaler man

A body found in the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh on Thursday morning has been determined to be a man who had been missing from Shaler Township since Tuesday.Sky 4 flew over the area of River Front Drive as police were at the scene.Shaler police said Mark Massimiani, 60, was found dead along the river Thursday. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allegheny County medical examiner was able to identify Massimiani.Police had said Massimiani had left his home in a ride-share a little before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and traveled to East Ohio Street in Millvale. Police said he was seen walking in the Millvale Riverfront Park a little after 8:40 p.m. on the river trail toward Pittsburgh.The county medical examiner has yet to determine a cause or manner of death for Massimiani.This is a developing story.
