President Joe Biden’s address to the nation in the Oval Office last Thursday was a continuation of his confusing and inconsistent approach to national politics.
Border remains open during fentanyl outbreak. Americans are struggling to make ends meet and he is imposing climate policies that make everything more expensive. The world is becoming more and more dangerous and he is working to impose social change on our military.
President Biden proved in Afghanistan that he can make disastrous errors of judgment with cataclysmic consequences. Biden’s blunder led to the collapse of an ally, the largest abandonment of American equipment in history, and the tragic conquest of the Afghans. Every day, Afghan women – who feared and resisted the Taliban for 19 years – see their hard-won freedom stripped from them.
BIDEN SAYS IT IS ‘VITAL’ TO US SECURITY THAT ISRAEL AND UKRAINE SUCCEED IN WARS, WILL REQUEST FUNDING
Despite Biden’s strong language last Thursday night, his administration has slowly and reluctantly sent the Ukrainians the military equipment they need. Instead of sending the military’s most advanced long-range system, ATACMs, Biden gave Ukraine a shorter-range, less effective system. The Ukrainians still lack the capabilities to destroy Russian forces at long range. They also lack aircraft that could allow them to control the air. Biden likes to send money and talk big, but he won’t send the military equipment Ukraine needs.
After just a few serious paragraphs about defending Israel, Biden reverted to the traditional, failed liberal view of impartiality. In paragraph eight, Biden reaffirmed his commitment to the Palestinians:
“I also spoke with President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority and reiterated that the United States remains committed to the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination. The actions of Hamas terrorists do not immediately remove that.
BIDEN AND OTHER WESTERN LEADERS REAFFIRM ISRAEL’S RIGHT TO DEFEND, CALL FOR CIVIL PROTECTION
“Like so many others, I am heartbroken by the tragic loss of Palestinian lives, including the hospital explosion in Gaza – which was not caused by the Israelis.
“We mourn every innocent life lost. We cannot ignore the humanity of innocent Palestinians who only want to live in peace and have an opportunity.”
He spoke of Palestinian suffering without mentioning Israeli babies beheaded by Hamas. He talked about delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and made only a vague and superficial commitment to rescuing American hostages.
In paragraph 11, Biden is done with Israel and turned to the war he really cares about.
“You know, the assault on Israel echoes nearly 20 months of war, tragedy and brutality inflicted on the Ukrainian people – a people who have been hurt very badly since Putin launched his all-out invasion,” he said. -he declares.
Biden took a small step forward by recognizing Iran’s role in Ukraine and the Middle East. But he offered no solutions.
BIDEN CLAIMS POPE FRANCIS ‘ON THE SAME PAGE’ AS US ON ISRAEL-GAZA WAR; PONTIF CALLS FOR PEACE: REPORT
“Iran supports Russia [war in] in Ukraine, and it supports Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region. And we will continue to hold them accountable, I might add,” he said.
Of course, Biden has never held Iran responsible for anything – and there’s no evidence he’s about to start. Holding Iran accountable would mean reimposing the harsh sanctions that President Donald Trump imposed on the world’s largest financier of terrorism — or freezing the $6 billion in Iranian money that is in Qatar.
Instead, Biden focused on restricting Israel’s ability to effectively wage war to protect its own citizens.
“President [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and I discussed again yesterday the critical need for Israel to operate under the laws of war. This means protecting civilians in combat as best they can. The people of Gaza are in urgent need of food, water and medicine. »

Instead of reinforcing Israel’s right to wipe out Hamas and quickly end the violence (which would benefit Israeli and Palestinian citizens), Biden’s classic liberal vision, based on sympathy for success, will not than prolong the torment.
Of course, Biden is letting slip the reality that we will have no control over the aid we send to Gaza as long as Hamas is present.
“If Hamas does not divert or steal this shipment, these shipments, we will pave the way for a sustainable delivery of vital humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.”
There is no doubt that Hamas will steal the shipments. Any aid we send will be used to help terrorists, not innocent Palestinians.
Ultimately, Biden’s liberal fantasy turned into a dream that hasn’t been realized in two generations.
“And as I said in Israel: As difficult as it is, we cannot give up on peace. We cannot give up on a two-state solution. Israel and the Palestinians deserve to live in security equally , dignity and peace.”
I hope Congress will carefully consider any package Biden sends. The Republican majority must insist on controlling our own border as part of any agenda – and be clear about what we are doing for Ukraine.

We should immediately adopt a set of effective measures for Israel, and then develop a set of rational reforms for Ukraine.
After his consistent failures, Biden must not get a blank check for Israel or Ukraine.
