As soon as the filming of The Phoenician Scheme is completed, the actor will join Leonardo DiCaprio at the filmmaker of Inherent Vice.
Just a year ago, Wes Anderson announced that he wanted to tour a film about a father and his daughter. A father himself, he has since hired Benicio Del Toro, Michael Cera, Mia Threapleton, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Benedict Cumberbatch and even Scarlett Johansson and Willem Dafoe for this film entitled The Phoenician Scheme.
“The core of the story actually focuses on two main charactershe detailed when announcing the project. I put it off for a long time, but ever since my daughter was born seven years ago, my wife kept telling me that I would eventually write about a father-daughter relationship. I wasn't sure what other stories I could tell, and then this movie has arrived. It will definitely be a story about a father and his daughter.”
The Texan filmmaker was in Annecy in recent days, the international animated film festival having wanted to pay tribute to him.
