Arsenal XI vs Crystal Palace: Starting line-up, confirmed team news, latest injuries for Premier League game

TO

Arsenal start Rob Holding in place of William Saliba in today’s London Premier League derby against Crystal Palace.

Saliba was forced to withdraw early during Thursday’s shock Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon due to a back problem.

The centre-back, who has started all of Arsenal’s league games this season, was going to be evaluated with the hope of being able to play this weekend.

However, later reports from France indicated that Saliba faces several weeks in the treatment room and will not participate in international duty.

Arteta bets on Holding along with Gabriel Magalhaes as center back today in the absence of Saliba, and January signs Jakub Kiwior on the bench along with his fellow defenders Kieran Tierney and the young Reuell Walters.

Takehiro Tomiyasu was also injured against Sporting and his injury appears serious. The right-back injured his knee and left the Emirates Stadium on crutches.

Arsenal make expected changes since Thursday night’s loss to Sporting by welcoming Palace, who are now without a manager after sacking Gunners icon Patrick Vieira on Friday.

Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey return to midfield, while Bukayo Saka rejoins an attack led by the recovered Leandro Trossard with Gabriel Jesus back on the bench.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny remain out.

Arsenal starting eleven: Ramsdale, Holding, White, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

Substitutes: Tierney, Gabriel Jesus, Smith Rowe, Kiwior, Jorginho, Vieira, Nelson, Turner, Walters

Sunday 14:00 GMT.

Event: Emirates Stadium.

Referee: Stuart Atwell.
