In an interview with Telichakkar, Apra Mehta explained how she got the role of Malti Devi and why she chose the Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupama.
She shared that she was speechless when she met Anupama. He said that his mother had passed away last year and a day before her death she was fine and Anupama was seeing him.
Her mother used to watch Anupama from day one and tell her that she should do such a show. Apra Mehta also revealed that her mother praised the show and Rupali as Anupama. Her mother was a professional actress and so Rupali and others knew how to perform in the show.
Apara said that her mother used to watch all Rajan Shahi’s shows and wanted her to do the same. While she was doing her Gujarati play, she got a call from Anupama’s casting director. The casting director told her that Rajan Shahi wanted her to play the role of Anupama.
