A remake of the 1997 cult film is in the works at Columbia Pictures.
No Jennifer Lopez on the menu this time. Anacondathe popular 1997 film about a huge snake that ate an entire film crew chasing it in the Amazon, is getting a remake. Columbia Pictures has hired Tom Gormicanwho recently directed the film Meta A talent made of solid gold with Nicolas Cage, to write and direct this new feature film.
The casting should be carried by a duo of funny guys, in this case Jack Black And Paul RuddThey are in preliminary talks, The Hollywood Reporter reports today.
According to sources, the new story will be about a group of friends facing a midlife crisis who remake their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest, only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes, and violent criminals.
Jack Black would play a former director, a man stuck in his job as a wedding videographer, while Paul Rudd would play an actor who had a stint in a police series but who sees his Hollywood dreams moving further and further away.
