A few weeks after saying goodbye to the Good Doctorin a tear-jerking finale, Freddie Highmore has just signed on for a new role… a far cry from Dr. Shaun Murphy.
He will be the star of the thriller The Assassinin development for the Prime Video platform, alongside the actress Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, Orphan Black: Echoes).
We will remember that before being the good guy Good Doctor, Freddie Highmore already played a psychopath named Norman Bates, in Bates Motel !
A six-part miniseries, the story will follow Julie, a retired assassin who lives a secluded life on a remote Greek island. Highmore will play Edward, Julie's son with whom she has a somewhat thorny reunion. According to the official synopsis, “Edward struggles to find the right moment to talk to his frustrating and distant mother. But when the moment finally arrives, things take a deadly turn. Julie's dangerous past catches up with her, and they are forced to flee the island and go on the run together.”
The Assassin was created by brothers Harry and Jack Williams. Filming is currently underway in Glasgow.
