A nod to a Hugh Jackman film will slip into the Deadpool 3 soundtrack

The Greatest Showman will be in the spotlight for this first collaboration between Deadpool and the MCU.

The soundtrack of Deadpool 3 is revealed, and fans of Hugh Jackman will be served. The Australian actor has taken his claws and canary costume out of the closet and is sharing the bill for Deadpool & Wolverine with Ryan Reynoldswho has played the masked anti-hero since the release of the first installment of the franchise in 2016. A featuring which announces an excessive success for this film, obviously R-Rated, which will be released under the Disney banner.

Movies Dead Pool have always been an opportunity for their authors to multiply the meta references to literally explode the Fourth Wall, and this new opus will not be left out. In addition to what we can already observe in the various trailers (the Fox logo in ruins, the allusions to Kevin Feige, big boss Marvel's nods to Rob Liefeldthe creator of Deadpool…), it seems that the two leads of the film will also be in the crosshairs of some sarcastic remarks.

This is the case of Hugh Jackman, a newcomer to this universe, and whose filmography will apparently be commented on… even in the soundtrack. Because, in addition to being a star of blockbusters and other superhero films, the actor is a bit of a music lover in his spare time. Let's remember that Jackman made his debut on stage, in the cast of musicals as Beauty and the Beast, Oklahoma! or Carousel.

A penchant for music that he has brought to the big screen on several occasions, notably in 2012, in Wretched (which earned him a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination), and in 2017 in The Greatest Showmana film inspired by the life of Phineas Taylor Barnumthe creator of the Barnum Circus, and in which Jackman is the main actor in addition to being the producer.

Produced by Fox (bought by Disney), The Greatest Showman boasts a five-star cast with Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Zac Efronor Rebecca FergusonThe actors provided their voices to a soundtrack composed by John Debney, Joseph Trapan, Benj Pasek And Justin Paul (the last two won Oscars for the soundtrack of La La Land). And this is one of those songs, “The Greatest Show” (the one that opens and closes the film of Michael Gracey), which we can (re)discover in Deadpool & Wolverine. But spiced up with Wade Wilson sauce, that's for sure.

A way for Ryan Reynolds, also the film's screenwriter, to welcome his colleague and friend to his land as he deserves.

Deadpool & Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 24.
