The US version trailer and poster have been released for the A24 film “A Different Man,” starring Sebastian Stan, who is well known for his role as Bucky in the “Captain America” series. Stan's performance was praised, and the film won the Best Actor Award at the Berlin Film Festival.

Stan plays the main character, Edward, an aspiring actor who suffers from neurofibromatosis, a genetic disease that causes tumors in the skin and bones. He undergoes innovative facial plastic surgery and is reborn as a different man.

Edward, who lives with his unique appearance, is visited by various people who say things as if they understand what he is saying. “There are many people who say horrible things,” “The misfortunes in life come from not accepting the facts,” etc. One day, Edward encounters a new treatment method that “might change his life.” The treatment is successful, and Edward gains a beautiful appearance (the appearance of Sebastian Stan).

One day, when he had begun to be pampered by those around him, a man who looked exactly like him before his treatment appeared and said, “I can't believe it, Edward?” “I'm sure you don't remember me, but I'm Oswald.”

In contrast to Edward, who took on the risk of undergoing treatment to get rid of his disfigured face, Oswald lives a popular life with his natural appearance and is a natural charmer. Dissatisfaction, jealousy, self-doubt. Edward is filled with emotions he has never known before.

“You've become your true self, it's wonderful, but I feel like you're not yourself anymore,” a woman tells Edward. What will this treatment and the arrival of Oswald bring to his complicated life?

Adam Pearson, who plays Oswald, is an actor who actually has neurofibromatosis. He has appeared in “Under the Skin” (2013) and “Chained for Life” (2018), and Stan in this film had special makeup done based on Pearson. The director is Aaron Simberg, who also worked on “Chained for Life,” and this will be his second collaboration with Pearson.

A24 Pictures' A Different Man will be released in the US on September 20, 2024.
