Following a gunshot early on Friday in Pittsburgh’s Homewood South neighborhood, three individuals are dead.
Around four in the morning, it occurred in the 7500 block of Hamilton Avenue.
Nandi Fitzgerald, 28, Denzel Nolan Jr., 13, and Tatiana Hill, 28, are the three people who died on December 31 in Homewood South, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Among the three, according to a family member of two of the dead, were her sister and her nephew. Nandi Fitzgerald and Denzel Nolan Jr. were recognized as the mother and child by Wand Fitzgerald.
Police are still looking into the matter. No information on any potential suspects has been made public.
On Hamilton Avenue and Braddock Avenue, neighbors, and local authorities gathered to offer their sympathy for the victims’ families, including Mayor-elect Ed Gainey.
“We cannot enter the new year by demonstrating that this is who we are. Not us, this. We are a loving community, Sheldon Oliver declared.
Oliver planned a “love gathering,” as he put it.
Amber Sloan, from the “MadeIt” organization, said, “I never imagined it when I made a post asking what happened on Hamilton, I never knew we would have three victims murdered, so for me again I felt hurt.”
Around 4 a.m., when the police arrived on Hamilton Avenue, they discovered a woman who had been shot in the head. SWAT personnel then discovered the remaining two victims while investigating the residence. At the scene, doctors pronounced all three of them dead.
Community leaders gathered on Friday night to collect donations for the family. Additionally, GoFundMe pages have been created to raise money for the victims’ families.
Oliver stated, “We’re just banding together to demonstrate strength in Pittsburgh as a community, as a people, and as us.
